Help support Washington University Physical Therapy students going to Guatemala!

A group of 14 Washington University Physical Therapy students of the 2010 class will be volunteering with faculty members in increasing awareness of global health issues in Guatemala. Between our last clinical experience and our final semester we will be spending 10 days at a rehabilitation clinic in Zacapa, Guatemala. The clinic is run by the U.S. organization Hearts in Motion and their mission is to improve the health conditions in Central American countries. The Zacapa clinic originally focused on providing care for children but recently opened a permanent prosthetics and orthotics laboratory to serve Guatemalan amputees. Class members will be supervised by WashU faculty members while providing physical therapy services to the patients of this clinic. Thank you in advance for your support!
